Arts and Culture Bendigo. This amazing program is designed to stretch and reconnect artists to their studio practise through painting and drawing on the streets of Rome in the plein-air tradition. I came home filled with ambition and determination to devote more time to my studio practice, which was sorely lacking, being a full time Art Teacher for twelve years. In I began my first One Drawing a Day project, a daily commitment that helped me rediscover and redefine my drawing skills and find time in my busy schedule for art making.

THEY have been making wine at Heathcote for more than years. German settlers planted the first vines: marsanne and shiraz. When shiraz vine roots find their way into the ancient Cambrian soils around Heathcote they produce grapes that can be made into wine that is big, fruity and peppery. For two days, the local showgrounds become a showcase for 50 regional wineries buses run to and from Bendigo and Melbourne both days and scores of local food producers. Athol Guy, the bloke from the Seekers is taking centre stage to belt out some tunes, as will be recently retired ABC presenter Derek Guille and his band the Ugly Uncles.
